This is a sweet early 20th Century piece, it is a typical art deco jug designed for flowers without a spout. It has a beautiful mottled eau de nil and green glaze.

It is made by Swinnertons and marked Made in England using an unusual serif typeface and is also marked with a shape mark of 79/3 implying it came in a range of sizes. It also has what appears to be a decorators mark which could be an F or a 4.

It would make a lovely flower vessel in a period house.
