This is a superb oval Whitefriars vase, pattern number 9384. It is really heavy, weighing in at 1.5kg. It was designed by William J Wilson who joined the company as a designer, then became Art Director, then finally MD of the company.

Every one of these vases is slightly different as the wings are added after the vase is formed using trails of hot glass.

The base is ground to a smooth finish and the pontil is ground out. There is wear typical for the age of the vase.

No crack, no chips.

There are odd bubbles as you would expect from a hand blown art glass pice. There is also some very light rubs to the body. There are a few really tiny fleabites on the edge of the base.
